This kid bag is perfect for traveling, restaurants or anywhere to keep those tiny hands busy. Your budding artist will be able to carry in their bag coloring pencils and their favorite coloring books.
This bag can easily carry 14 coloring pencils and 2 coloring books 26,5 x 20,5cm (10,5 x 8 inches).
Finished dimensions : Shoulder strap 58cm (23 inches) bag approximately 30 x 25cm (12 x 10 inches)
You will need 30 cm (1/3 yard) of denim or bottom weight fabric and 60 cm (2/3 yard) cotton print (quilters weight). You will also need some interfacing. Of course don't forget to get some matching thread!
This 9 pages PDF e-pattern includes materials list, cutting layout, detailed instructions written in English, and clear step-by-step photographs.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read this pattern; the program can be downloaded for free at www.adobe.com.

I did modify it a little to make the bag more versatile and heavy duty. I lined the pocket with a fusible fleece to give more structure as I wanted larger pockets and fewer of them. I also used same fleece in handles. I also enlarged the bag to a 13”x17”. So an older child could use. The pockets were enlarged so that a few matchbox cars could be tucked away as well as a box of colored pencils, a single pencil and any other items my sons’ might stow inside. So loved that the pattern could easily be modified to fit what I needed.
